The Osmo Maintenance Kit - Caring for Osmo Polyx Finished Furniture

We have put together an Osmo Maintenance Kit containing 3 key items required to keep your new furniture looking beautiful for years to come! We recommend that all our customers purchase one of these kits to arrive with or soon after their new Bombora furniture does, so that they have what they need on hand and conveniently ready for use. Regular maintenance will protect and nourish the timber, and maintain the beautiful surface finish indefinitely.

The Osmo Spray Cleaner is perfect for daily wipe downs of all Osmo Polyx treated timber furniture to remove dust, dirt, finger prints or any other day to day mess. For high use areas like dining tables or vanities in regular use, we advice a quick treatment with the Liquid Wax Cleaner every 3 months or so to keep the timber water resistant, nourished and protected from stains. For TV cabinets or shelves that do not get a lot of traffic, then a treatment every 6-12 months will keep the timber protected and in great condition. The process of cleaning and waxing the timber is very straightforward, as shown in the steps below….

All you need are these 3 items. The entire process is very quick and easy! An old tea towel or kitchen cloth will be useful for the initial spray and wipe down process…..

First step - is to turn the nozzle to the on position, and spray the cleaner directly onto your timber surface. Then give the furniture a quick rub over with a lint free cloth to remove any surface dust or dirt. The Osmo Spray Cleaner has been especially designed for everyday wipe downs, it is gentle on the skin, free of solvents or fumes and leaves the timber surface clean without removing oils or waxes, or drying the timber out.

Once your spray bottle is nearing empty, you can purchase the Osmo Wash and Care Concentrate to make up many more litres of this handy product and simply refill your spray bottle!

Second step - once the timber surface is dry, you can proceed to apply the Liquid Wax Cleaner, formulated for removing tough stains and nourishing timber. Give the tin a good shake, and apply a small amount of the wax with the microfibre cloth included in the kit, and evenly rub all over the surface of your timber furniture. If there are any areas showing wear or marks, give them an extra rub with some more wax.

Allow 30-40 minutes for the wax to settle on the surface of your furniture before use. Thats it, your done!

This is a close up image of our showroom desk before care. This beautiful recycled Messmate desk is in daily use and there are a few minor stains, some light scratches and areas of dry looking timber where the sun shines across the back of the desk in the afternoons…

The results after treatment are very pleasing! The desk looks instantly revitalized with a regular tone and an enhancement of grain patterns. The light surface scratches have faded away with only a couple of deep scratches still visible but much less so than before. The dry feel of the timber has gone. The desk is left with a slight matt satin sheen with the surface feeling silky smooth.
