Depending on your layout, this will be a U-shaped cutout centred in the drawer or a cavity between drawers.

our customisation options….

For an additional fee, we can customise any of our vanity designs as below. You will be provided with a custom drawing for your approval before we start building your piece.

Custom sizes: We can customise our designs to any required size.
Custom basin locations: We can alter our designs to suit any basin location. We will provide you with a drawing template to complete.
Alternative cutout sizes: Our standard cutout size suits the majority of top mount basins. We can design our vanities with alternative cutout sizes.
Semi-inset and undermount basins: Using a basin that isn’t top-mounted will require an alternative cutout size as well as alterations to the overall size and internal layout of the vanity to allow for the basin.
Alternative layouts: We can create our designs with alternative layouts such as adding a cupboard or open display shelving.
No top: For those who want to supply and install their own stone top or integrated basin we can customise the design to suit.
Timber selection: Our standard level of feature for Messmate and recycled Messmate timber is medium. If you want something different, we have a $200 timber selection service where you can collaborate with our makers to choose each piece of timber.

Meet Bombora

We’re a small, family-run workshop on the Victorian surf coast, crafting handcrafted timber vanities from sustainably sourced Australian hardwoods.

Founded by Luke and Alison — partners in life and business — Bombora grew from a shared love of timeless design, natural materials, and making things that matter. Luke brings decades of experience as a furniture maker, while Alison shapes the vision, ensuring each client feels supported through a collaborative process.

Our vanities are made slowly and thoughtfully, finished with natural oils and waxes that highlight the timber’s unique character, never plastic coatings or synthetic finishes. We work in a solar-powered workshop and plant a native tree for every piece we create through our One Piece, One Tree initiative.

Inspired by the beauty of our coastal home, we believe furniture should do more than fill a space — it should feel like it belongs.
